Toy collection at tollway oasis

Each of the seven oases along the Illinois Tollway will collect donations benefiting Toys for Tots this holiday season. Drivers are invited to stop and drop off toys in specially-marked donation boxes at the oases through Dec. 16.

“This gift drop location offers thousands of people driving through the Illinois Tollway oases this holiday season an opportunity to stop in and make a difference in brightening a child’s life. It’s as simple as dropping off an unwrapped gift during your daily travel,” said Cindy O’Drobinak, senior vice president of U.S. Equities.

Sponsored by the United States Marine Corps Reserve, Toys for Tots collects new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year. The program’s goal is to deliver a message of hope to the less fortunate through a new toy at Christmas. Travelers are encouraged to make the season brighter for area children by donating an unwrapped toy on their way to or from work or holiday destinations.
