AARP Tax Aide is a free service offering tax preparation assistance to people with low to moderate income, especially senior citizens. The service is provided by trained local volunteers who want to make a difference in their communities.

The program needs volunteers to help people prepare their tax returns in DeKalb, Genoa and Sycamore in 2013.

No experience is necessary to volunteers, just a desire to help others. AARP Tax Aide will train all volunteers at Ideal Training Center on Park Avenue in Sycamore Jan. 9 through 11 and Jan. 14, beginning at 9 a.m. each day.
