CROP Walk totals announced

DeKALB – The total raised by the 2012 Sondra King Memorial CROP Hunger Walk was recently finalized. The Oct. 21 walk raised $32,036 to fight hunger locally and abroad.

This total exceeds the goal set for the walk by $400. Twenty-four local churches and organizations participated in the walk, and 43 walkers were recognized for raising more than $200 each.

Twenty-five percent of the total will be distributed to DeKalb County agencies including local food pantries, Meals on Wheels, Hope Haven and Safe Passage.
