'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' comes to stage

DeKALB — Annex/Dreamers Theatre Group will present C.S. Lewis’ beloved “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” Friday through Sunday, Jan. 11-13 at Northern Illinois University’s Corner Theatre.

The play tells the famous tale of Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy – four siblings in World War II-era England who are sent away from London to live in the countryside, where they will be safe from air raids and bombings. While they are staying in a large, historic country house owned by an old professor, Lucy discovers that an unsual wardrobe in a spare room is a gateway to a magical land called Narnia.

Based on the well-loved book by C.S. Lewis, the play explores the four children’s adventures in Narnia where they learn about bravery, loyalty and the meaning of friendship.
