DeKALB – “Where’s Your Heart?” is a chance to say no to the consumerism and materialism of Valentine’s Day and instead embrace a message of peace and love for all people.

“Where’s Your Heart?” aims to demonstrate the community’s refusal to accept violence against any and all people. It honors multiple people: author, activist and feminist Eve Ensler and her global strike against violence against women; those lost in the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting last December; and those affected by the Northern Illinois University shooting on Feb. 14, 2008.

The evening will include music by national band SHEL as well as performances by five local and regional bands. Musical genres include folk, alternative folk/pop and smooth jazz. Artwork by NIU and local artists will also be on display.
