Voices only: DHS hosts a cappella semifinals

DeKALB – The DeKalb High School Music Department will host the Varsity Vocals International Championship of High School A Cappella Midwest Semifinal at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23.

Varsity Vocals is the home of student a cappella with programs that give college and high school a cappella groups the opportunity to interact, compete, learn and perform in venues around the globe.

On Feb. 23, six Midwestern high school a cappella groups will compete for a spot at the ICHSA Finals in New York City in April. DeKalb High School’s mixed a cappella group Enharmonic Fusion will compete against Limited Edition (Port Washington High School, Port Washington, Wis.), Reign (West Des Moines Valley High School, West Des Moines, Iowa), Midnight Voices (West/Memorial High School, Madison, Wis.), High Fidelity (Niles West High School, Niles, Ill.) and Echo Effect (Niles West High School, Niles, Ill.).
