Community invited to 'discover Islam'

DeKALB – The Muslim Students Association at Northern Illinois University invites the community to its annual Discover Islam Week, a series of events to inform the community about Islam and Muslims, and to dispel any myths or stereotypes.

All events are free and open to anyone with an open mind and open heart. All events begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Holmes Student Center, at the corner of Normal Road and Lucinda Avenue in DeKalb.

• On Monday, March 25, a student panel will discuss "Growing Up Muslim in America" in the Capitol Room South.

• On Tuesday, March 26, Rockford Imam Sphendim Nadzaku will present "Honest Answers About Islam" in Room 505.

• On Wednesday, March 27, there will be a free screening of "MOOZ-LUM the Movie" in Room 506.

• On Thursday, March 28, Shaykh Abu Talha will give a presentation on the Islamic social system in Room 505.
