GENOA – Linda Dolder of Genoa won the 51-inch Samsung plasma television in the Genoa Area Chamber of Commerce raffle at the chamber’s home and business expo in March.

She gave the TV to her parents, Lloyd and Doris Seyller of Hampshire.

“For over a year, my husband and I have been praying for a way to get (a TV) for my parents, as my dad has macular degeneration and can’t see their 32-inch television very well,” Dolder said.

“We decided to give it to them as an early 65th anniversary gift, which is this July 1.”

Other expo raffle winners were Opal Umbdenstock of Genoa, who won a trip to Mount Olympus at Wisconsin Dells; Wayne and Barb Barrett of Genoa, who won a trip to the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa; and third-grader Isaac Oster of DeKalb, who won a 26-inch mountain bike.

On the heels of launching its new website and its new shop-local arm, Explore Genoa, the Genoa Area chamber has debuted two new logos.

With the help of local resident Mike Milinac, the chamber created a new look to promote its membership and enhance the community.

The Explore Genoa Logo incorporates the COG design, and the new chamber logo acknowledges Genoa’s status as a Tree City, USA and includes the Kishwaukee River.
