Sycamore United Methodist Church celebrates the beauties of spring and music in its Spring Choral Celebration April 20 and 21.

SYCAMORE – Sycamore United Methodist celebrates the beauties of spring and music in its Spring Choral Celebration, “The Colors of Your Grace,” at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 20 and at 8:30 and 10 a.m. Sunday, April 21.

The public is invited to attend the celebration, which features a 40-voice adult choir, the Kid’s Choir and many small groups, soloists and instrumentalists.

The music is widely varied, including Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” “Say It Loud,” a jazz-gospel piece featuring saxophonists Jim Selig and Gracia Watson, and  “A Rose in the Valley,” enhanced by Atlee Mathew’s Dance Team. The popular Good News! Men’s Quartet, directed by Doug Elder, will share its beautiful harmonies in “We Shall See Jesus.” Craig Fritz accompanies the choir.

The program, created by SUMC music director Bev Rauch, gets its title from a Mark Hayes piece. Jim McCue has created a PowerPoint to go along with the song.

The church is located at 160 Johnson Ave. in Sycamore. For more information contact the church office at 815-895-9113.
