SYCAMORE – A fundraiser on April 27 will help a local family to cope with ongoing medical bills.

Jessica Lankford, a wife and mother of two, recently spent eight days in Kishwaukee Community Hospital being treated for complications related to multiple sclerosis. Because of her condition, Lankford is no longer able to work full time, and her medical bills are immense.

The fundraiser will be held from 2 to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at Cabana Charley’s, on Peace Road in Sycamore near Walgreens. It will include a silent auction, raffles, door prizes and music by a DJ. Admission is free; all donations will help defray the family’s medical bills.

Cabana Charley’s also will donate 10 percent of all food purchases during that time period to the Lankford family.
