scholarships

Western Illinois University has awarded Western Commitment Scholarships to several local students. The Western Commitment Scholarship is an $8,000 award to be applied toward four years of tuition, fees and room and board. High school students with an ACT score of 25 or higher and a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher are eligible.

Local recipients are A. Hunter-Rosene and Zachary Riel of DeKalb; Alaina Chester of Genoa; and Hannah Knox and Alaina Stein of Sycamore.
