The Genoa Davenport Elementary kindergarten class was treated to a “Dinosaur Encounter” by author Janet Riehecky. Riehecky is the author of more than 100 books for children, including 32 books on dinosaurs. She brought with her a large collection of fossils and museum-quality replicas of real dinosaur bones – including a 5-foot, 7-inch apatosaurus femur and an entire foot of a tyrannosaurus rex. The children were able to examine a tyrannosaur’s tooth, an iguanodon’s thumb and a velociraptor’s claw. Standing, from left, Judi Brownfield, Janet Riehecky and Chris Pacheco, pictured with Pacheco's kindergarten class.
