DeKalb County Community Gardens received a $2,850 grant from the DeKalb County Community Foundation. Dan Kenney, left, executive director of the community gardens, accepted the grant from Larry Bolles, a member of the foundation board. The grant will allow the community gardens to provide water at its larger garden locations, Kenney said. Now in its second year, the community gardens initiative has 37 locations throughout the county and has more than 40 partnerships and working relationships with local governments, businesses and nonprofit groups.
