SYCAMORE – Eric Nore was appointed the Sycamore High School head girls volleyball coach by the District 427 board of education. The appointment is effective immediately.
Nore has been an assistant coach with the Waubonsie Valley High School volleyball program for the past two seasons. He has been deeply involved in the club volleyball scene for close to 20 years. While coaching at Sports Performance Volleyball Club, Nore helped lead multiple teams of different ages to All-American finishes, including two National Championships and three other Top Three finishes.
In addition to coaching several quality teams, he has developed players who have played at all levels of the college game. Some have attempted to play professionally and with the US National Team.
A graduate of University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a bachelor’s degree in natural resource management, Nore received his teacher training at Aurora University. In addition to his volleyball duties, he will have teaching and other duties at Sycamore high school and middle school.
“We are extremely pleased to add Eric Nore to our coaching staff. His philosophy and experience is exactly what we need to continue our rich volleyball tradition,” SHS athletic director Chauncey Carrick said. “Coach Nore has shown the ability to develop talent while encouraging students to expand their horizons in activities outside of volleyball. Coach Nore has high expectations for his athletes both on and off the court.”
“My true passion lies with providing athletes the opportunity to understand how athletics can supplement their educational experience and build a foundation necessary to succeed in all pursuits in life,” Nore said.
