Stage Coachers present play of suspense

DeKALB – Opening Oct. 10, Stage Coach Players presents Patrick Hamilton’s “Rope,” a suspenseful play set in London, circa 1965.

Directed by Scott Morris, the story concerns two wealthy graduate students, Brandon and Granillo, who strangle their “inferior” classmate Ronnie to prove their superiority by committing the “perfect” murder. They hide the body in an antique chest, then invite Ronnie’s friends and family for a dinner party – directly over the body.

Tensions rise as Ronnie’s mysterious absence is questioned and Brandon’s hints lead the conversation to a discussion on the art of murder.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 10-12 and 17-19 and 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, at Stage Coach Theater, 126 S. Fifth St. in DeKalb. For information, visit www.stagecoachers.com. Tickets are available online or by phone at 815-758-1940.
