DeKALB – St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will partner with Northern Illinois University’s Grace Place Campus Ministry for the fourth year to offer “Ashes on the Go” on Ash Wednesday, March 5, outside St. Paul’s at 900 Normal Road, and outside Grace Place on the corner of Lucinda Avenue and Normal Road.

Ministers will meet people in the places where they usually are on Wednesday, such as walking around campus.

“Knowing God is not limited to what happens in the church building. God is at work in our lives,” Rev. Stacy Walker-Frontjes said. “Ashes on the Go is a symbol of God’s love and grace in daily life.”

St. Paul’s will hold traditional Ash Wednesday services with Holy Communion and Imposition of Ashes at 8 a.m. (spoken service) and 6 p.m. (sung service). A soup supper will be held after the evening service. Grace Place will have a service at 9 p.m.
