This letter is in response to a recent letter to the editor concerning the golf rates at Sycamore Golf Club.
On February 6, supporters of the Sycamore School District music program were treated to a spectacular evening of music, food, and prizes in the second annual Sycamore Music Boosters “A Note to Remember” event held at Blumen Gardens.

My 3-year-old was a good enough girl this year to receive from Santa not only the Deluxe edition “Wizard of Oz” on DVD, but also a whole gaggle of accompanying toys. We’re not just talking a cross-section of Munchkinland or a demographic of the Emerald City; I mean all the key characters from the movie are amply represented.
I’m a local student who attends Sycamore Middle School. Several times a week, I’ll pass by the Heron Creek subdivision and see the new water tower being put up. Even though I’ve heard one complaint about the water tower, I personally find it pretty cool having the water tower so close to my home. It’s also been very fascinating watching the giant crane place the huge cement pieces into place. With the completion of the structure nearing, the water tower will need to be painted, which brings me to my purpose for writing this letter.
The weather this past year presented many challenges for those in production agriculture. At the same time, area farmers were struggling with fall corn and soybean harvest, the word spread of a neighbor who had been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Within a day of that news, a plan had been devised for “Gene Miller Day,” when Sycamore and surrounding area farmers would join together to complete Gene’s corn harvest.
The Sycamore History Museum would like to thank the following businesses, organizations, and individuals for their generous support of our recent fundraiser “An Evening with Thomas Edison,” which was held on Jan. 30, at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Because of these kind donations and continued advertisement, the evening was a huge success.
DeKalb and the surrounding area is very fortunate to have a venue like the Nehring Gallery to present exhibits of interest to the community.
I am writing on behalf of all the local golfers that share my frustration. Our frustration lies with the Sycamore Park District’s golf course rates. Sycamore has the highest rates of any 18-hole public course in at least a 30-mile radius from Sycamore.
It is difficult to come up with words sufficient to describe my gratitude toward those who, without their help, I could not have prevailed in the Republican Primary Election for the 16th Judicial Circuit Judge. Many people gave more of themselves in support, encouragement, time and effort than I can ever repay.
This letter is to thank everyone who supported me, voted for me and particularly my campaign workers.
